5 schools from Cuddalore District were chosen to be part of the flood relief distribution.
1. Municipal Elementary school -Melpadhi, Nellikuppam, Cuddalore.
2. Municipal area Govt High School-Sanakaranst, Cuddalore -OT.
3. Melapalayam,Middle School-Police line, 4th st, Panruti.
4. Municipal Middle School - Pudupet, Vriddhachalam, Cuddalore.
5. Municipal Primary school - VasantharayanPalayam, Cuddalore–OT.
AIF had chalked out a list of essential items that would help
the students based on their loss in the recent flood.
The Principals of respected schools were contacted and with the
guidance of the Chief Education r’s help, AIF was able to
locate the schools with the maximum need. After a confirmed list was drawn,
the procurement, transportation and finally the delivery of the school relief were carried out.
On January 8th 2016: A team of 15 Members and Volunteers travelled to Cuddalore. All the listed schools were visited. With the assistance of the school staff and Principal the items procured for the children were distributed.
It was a day of joy and absolute glee for the school kids to see the truck load of goodies brought for them. The Principals and other school staff were equally delighted as their children were awarded the essentials to continue their studies unhindered. Udhavum Ullangal, a charitable Trust functioning for the last 18 years in Chennai were our major Sponsors for the event. Mr.SankarMahadevan, Founder Trustee of Udhavum Ullangal and his Team of volunteers had kindly consented to our trip to Cuddalore. A special note of thanks to Mr.Ramesh Kumar Mahadevan who facilitated the sponsor by Udhavum Ullangal for the event.
JRS Reddy, the co-founder and Treasurer AIF also had the privilege of planting a sapling in Municipal middle school at Vridhachalam, Cuddalore District,and the plant was named after Assist India Foundation.
